Teachers Gifts

Well its 2 weeks today till Little Miss G finishes school for summer holidays! Which means finding 8 weeks of entertainment and at least 5 weeks of help with looking after her while I’m at work.  Last week I made Lili’s Teacher’s gifts so I thought I’d share some other teacher gift idea’s that I have made in this post with you all.

As with everything i make they are not hard to do so if you want to have a go and don't know where to start then drop me an e-mail or if you can't be bothered making one but want to buy a Teachers Gift then pop over to my Facebook Page where there are lots of items to choose from.

Fathers Day Bookmark

Well you all know me by now! Once an event or season has passed i swiftly move onto the next!.  So Easter and the Royal Wedding have gone and now i'm onto Fathers Day gifts (when is it by the way?!).  This bookmark is an easy project to whip together and can look great if you embellish it well.  I used an oversized luggage tag some organza ribbon a large metal brad and some scrapbook papers and this is what i made....

How cute is this metal brad. perfect for Fathers Day (don't ask where i got it though because for the life of me i can't remember!!)

Simple bookmark and a big Thankyou

First of all i need to say a really big thankyou to Shirl over on vintageseamuse for the gorgeous bloggy love swap parcel she sent me.  I adore all the items and when i get a minute i will take some pics and do a proper post on it but while you are waiting for that why don't you pop over to Shirl's blog and say hello.  She is very talented and i am so lucky to have been paired with her for the swap.

Now secondly i wanted to share a really simple project with you.  Me and Mr G love reading and for one of his valentines pressies i wanted to make him a bookmark.  I have made wooden bookmarks before but these all look a bit girly so i thought i would make a card one instead.  I started with a card luggage tag (i bought a pack of 10 for £1.20 in Tesco's)
Then i used double sided tape to stick one side of the luggage tag all over (once i had removed the string) then i placed the luggage tag onto the reverse of a piece of patterned background card and then cut around the edge.  I then did the same on the back of the tag.  Then i punched a hole in the top and fed some ribbon through.  I then used stickers to apply the text.  This is the front....
 and this is the back....

This is such a simple project and turns out better than i thought it would.  I'm now going to make some more the rest of my family.

Easy & Quick Calendar gift

Who doesn't like a project thats quick and easy? Well this one was really quick and i'm impressed with how they have turned out.  I did have images of these looking like Lili had made it at school when i decided to make some coaster calendars and bookmarks but fear not they seem to have come out well!.
All i did was stick roller glue all around a coaster then placed the coaster on a sheet of patterned card glue side down.  Then cut around the card with a craft knife.  Turned over and did the same for the other side.  Then stuck on a few embellishments and a mini calendar.  Popped it in self seal cello bag and made a topper from card.  Wrote on the topper and embellished.  Give it a go they really only take 10 minutes to do.
These bookmarks are also super easy.  Take a wooden lolly stick.  I bought a pack of about 50 coloured ones for £1.99 from the Range.  Stick on your choice of topper with glue.  I used flower cut outs and popped a brad through the centre.  You can buy packs of these flowers (again from the Range) or use pretty much anything you want.  Pop in a cello bag and make a header out of co-ordinated card folded over in half and write on the label.
