Ok when i look at everyone else's blogs they all have lovely photo's showing what they have made or what they are posting about. So why is it i class myself as crafty/arty but can't even take a simple photo without chopping my subject in half, randomly capturing the item in bad light etc etc. Even Lili can take better pics than me - being outdone by a 4 year old really isn't sitting well with me!).
So i'm after some lovely handy tips off all you lovely people who take stunning photo's and make looking at your items enjoyable as opposed to people looking at mine and wondering why the end of my cats tail is in the corner of the pic or why my hand is half across the lense!!. As a starter i would like to know how to put a nice border around my pics when i am uploading them onto a post. Please please please leave me a comment with some good tips x x
Hi Tina, I can't help with the border being vv new to blogging myself, but when looking at other people's pics I always find the ones taken in natural daylight the most appealing (most of mine are taken in the house at night with the electric light on, but I'm trying to improve this!) and I always think things you've made look best when actually being used/worn - for example a pincushion with pins in at, and some thread and scissors in the background, or a slice of cake on a plate with a cup of tea, that kind of thing. Hope that helps a bit, I'm sure you'll get much more arty responses to this question than that! x
ReplyDeleteGo to the lightest room in house (depending what time of day it is)and take the pics there. Its all about lighting. Better still-outside on a sunny day. Another tip if its not to bright out is when you use your flash indoors tape a little bit of foil at an angle to the flash, the flash will then bounce off the foil rather then what ever your picturing avoiding the horrible saturated look but still giving you a brighter picture.:-)
ReplyDeleteIt kinda depends on what packages you have on your pc. You can put a simple border round them by using Paint. Jaqui x
ReplyDeleteI can't help with the border as I'm no expert but I tend to use Macro alot and also customize the size of the photo before putting it on the blog, that way I only get the best part of the photo. this was advice I got from the Etsy site.
