Tilda bird

Well i'm spoiling you all this week aren't i! Two posts in two days looks like i'm back on track..  Today i have made a bird out of one of the Tilda books.  I have borrowed the book from the library but it has so many lovely projects i am just going to have to put it on my list to buy.  I stuffed the bird with lavender so it smells lovely.  My little girl has already claimed it. As she pointed out its pink so i clearly made it for her room!!!!

Funky doorstop

Ok i know i have been neglecting my blog over the past few weeks so i'm sorry to anyone who does actually read my posts.  My little brother got married on saturday and for the last few weeks i have spent all my spare time (not that i get much!) doing wedding things like making order of services, favour boxes, name cards etc etc etc. It was all worth it as it was a lovely day and they were really grateful for everything i had done.

Anyway i promise to get back to posting more often and to get sewing again....i have made this doorstop recently though.  Recognise the fabric Dana?

Book bags

A couple of weeks ago i did a craft fair and met a lovely girl called Claire who sells Usbourne books.  She also sells fabric on ebay.  She asked me if i would make some book bags for her books if she supplied the fabric.  These are a couple that i can show you now she has received them.  I have made some more but i won't put any pics up on here yet as i posted them this afternoon and she follows me (hiya Claire!).  Anyway she has some lovely fabrics in her ebay shop (crafty cushions and more) if anyone wants to check them out.

My first Win

A few weeks ago i entered a giveaway for a free copy of sew hip magazine over on christine's blog sewchristine.  I was so chuffed when i won as its the first thing i have won and i really wanted the mag as loads of you have been raving about it.  Thanks Christine it arrived last night and i have already planned a couple of makes for tonight!.  If you haven't seen Christines blog pop over and have a look its lovely and she has some great tutorials to follow.

Winning her giveaway made me think how great giveaway's are so i thought it would be nice if i set one up.  Now i haven't thought it all through yet so i'll post some more details at weekend when i have decided what i can offer up as a prize.  Keep your eye peeled for more info....

CRAFTY SUNDAY

What a week it has been!!Things have been crazy in the Glover house and i have not had much time for getting crafty. I did manage a quick bag though.

oh and a few cards and boxes.....

This box is a crib of one of the fantastic box tutorials over on Debbies blog at Country heart and home.  Her blog is amazing and her tutorials are simply fantastic.  Click here for the tutorial i used.

Another box i made from debbies blog...

I thought i would have a go at sewing on a card.  I think it ended up quite effective so i did another!

Photo's where do i go wrong!

Ok when i look at everyone else's blogs they all have lovely photo's showing what they have made or what they are posting about.  So why is it i class myself as crafty/arty but can't even take a simple photo without chopping my subject in half, randomly capturing the item in bad light etc etc.  Even Lili can take better pics than me - being outdone by a 4 year old really isn't sitting well with me!).

So i'm after some lovely handy tips off all you lovely people who take stunning photo's and make looking at your items enjoyable as opposed to people looking at mine and wondering why the end of my cats tail is in the corner of the pic or why my hand is half across the lense!!.  As a starter i would like to know how to put a nice border around my pics when i am uploading them onto a post.  Please please please leave me a comment with some good tips x x

CRAFTY SUNDAY

I haven't joined in with crafty sunday for a few weeks as i have been on holiday but this week i have a few things to show.  it has been a manic week with work being really busy and trying to catch up on holiday washing/ironing and fitting in some crafting in between!!!.
Anyway without further a do this weeks makes include some pump bags that i made using gorgeous owl fabric which i just love. i also have it in girly pinks.  I also made co-ordinating crayon rolls.
This pink fabric i have had for a while and couldn't think what to make with it.

This is a one hour ric rac bag which is so easy to make (and it does take less than an hour!!). If you fancy making one the tutorial is here
