Teachers Gifts

Well its 2 weeks today till Little Miss G finishes school for summer holidays! Which means finding 8 weeks of entertainment and at least 5 weeks of help with looking after her while I’m at work.  Last week I made Lili’s Teacher’s gifts so I thought I’d share some other teacher gift idea’s that I have made in this post with you all.

As with everything i make they are not hard to do so if you want to have a go and don't know where to start then drop me an e-mail or if you can't be bothered making one but want to buy a Teachers Gift then pop over to my Facebook Page where there are lots of items to choose from.

3 gifts from fabric scraps

Today i am going to share with you 3 things i have made from some small pieces of fabric scraps.  Each project took less than half an hour and i have to say i'm quite pleased with how they turned out given i made two of them up...
First item is this phone holder which i made up as i went along.  It was really easy and if anyone is interested i may try and do a tutorial for it.
This owl fabric is one of my faves at the moment.

I used fusible interfacing on the back of the lining and the main fabric to give it a bit of stability and attached a key fob as i am always losing my phone so now i can attach the case inside my handbag.

The next two items i made using some Amy Butler scraps.  These are a present for Mr G's Auntie who goes nowhere without pocket tissues and a chapstick!!

For the tissue holder i followed a tutorial over on skiptomylou. If you haven't visited Cindy's site go and look straight away she has so many fab homemade gift idea's and tutorials.
This chapstick holder i made up as i went along using a similar process to the phone holder but i didn't use interfacing. These projects were so easy and only took scrapos and very little time so i'm probably going to make a bundle for pressies.  They would make good Mothers Day gifts for starters..

Show & Tell and Gifts from the kitchen

Well we are one day into the fabric swap and already have 12 people listed which is great.  Don't forget if you want to join in you need to leave a comment on the fabric swap post here .

Today is Lili’s show and tell day – For some reason it wasn’t in my diary when I checked last night but luckily I randomly decided to check her school file and there it was so 6.30am this morning I was thinking about what she could take!!!. When she woke up she asked if she could take in the babies sleeping bag and pillow I had made for her last week (click here to view it). She said that she would need to tell everyone her mummy had made it as they would think she bought it from a shop!. Not when they take a closer look at my wonky stitching they won’t but bless her for bigging up my sewing :-). She also took in her baby bjorn swimming baby that she got for Christmas. Note to anyone who’s daughter wants one – don’t bother they are a waste of time!! I think the doll swam once and is now just an over expensive normal dolly.

I bought this bargain book from The Works for £2.99 and I am hoping to try out some of the recipes this weekend. I think I’ll start with….

and then maybe try my first relish...

If they are any good i'll post the recipes for everyone to try.
